not marked as a favorite taxon Asimina ×piedmontana C.N. Horn. Common name: Piedmont Pawpaw. Phenology: Apr-May; Jul-Sep. Habitat: Dry-mesic forests, typically in "hybrid habitats" between the two parents and often not in immediate proximity to either. Distribution: Known from the North Carolina (Piedmont and Coastal Plain), South Carolina (Piedmont), and Alabama (Coastal Plain, Piedmont, and low Mountains of Alabama); to be expected elsewhere where the distributions of the parent species overlap.
