Ipomoea imperati (Vahl) Grisebach. Common name: Beach Morning-glory. Phenology: Aug-Oct (-Jul). Habitat: Beaches, dune blowouts, fore-dunes. Distribution: Se. NC south to s. FL, west to TX; south through Mexico, Central America to South America; West Indies; Old World tropics.

Flowers: Flowers solitary on stalks from leaf axils, white with yellow throat, to 2 in. long, tubular-funnel-shaped and consisting of 5 united petals (there is a suggestion of separate petal lobes at the rim); 5 elliptic-oval sepals with toothed tips surround the base of the flower, and 5 stamens and a style are visible in the corolla throat.

Fruits: Fruit a nearly round capsule.
