not marked as a favorite taxon Asimina pygmaea (W. Bartram) Dunal. Common name: Dwarf Pawpaw, Gopherberry. Habitat: Pine flatwoods, wet savannas. Distribution: Se. GA south to s. peninsular FL (Collier County).

ID notes: Asimina pygmaea is a dwarf shrub 2-3 dm tall of pine flatwoods, occupying wetter sites than the other ‘pineland pawpaws’.
