Diospyros texana Scheele. Common name: Texas Persimmon, Black Persimmon, Chapote, Mexican Persimmon. Phenology: Feb-Jun; Aug-Oct. Habitat: Rocky woodlands, slopes, open areas, along streams. Distribution: E. and c. TX south into n. Mexico (CHH, COA, DGO, NLE, SLP, TAM).

Origin/Endemic status: Native
