Habitat: Prairies, thornscrub, shrubland, rocky ridge slopes, and canyons over gravelly calcareous soils, limestone rubble, and caliche. Distribution: New Mexico, w. and s. Texas, Louisiana south to n. Mexico (Chihuahua, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí).
