not marked as a favorite taxon Carex complanata Torrey & W.J. Hooker. Common name: Hirsute Sedge. Phenology: May-Jun. Habitat: Bottomland forests and swamps, depression swamps, drier barrens. Distribution: New Jersey and s. Pennsylvania south to n. peninsular Florida and Panhandle Florida, west to Texas and Missouri; reportedly disjunct in Arizona and s. Mexico.
