Iliamna corei Sherff. Common name: Peters Mountain Mallow. Phenology: Jun-Aug; Jul-Oct. Habitat: In shallow soil in crevices of outcroppings of Clinch sandstone, near the summit of Peters Mountain. Distribution: Endemic to the summit of Peters Mountain, Giles County, VA.
Origin/Endemic status: Endemic
Taxonomy Comments: The validity of I. corei as a species distinct from I. remota was supported by Bodo Slotta & Porter (2006).
