Hab: Moist depressions and seepages on granitic and other rocks, drawdown riverbanks, swales, shores, coastal rock barrens, other moist disturbed sites. Dist: Nearly cosmopolitan in distribution, in Old World and New World.

Taxonomy Comments: Similar to the closely related C. granitophilus.
