*Paspalum orbiculatum Poiret. Common name: Arrocillo. Habitat: Waif on ore piles. Distribution: Native of South America.
ID notes: Paspalum orbiculatum is a glabrous, creeping perennial with ascending flowering branches 10-20 cm long, with the delicate culms finally branching. The blades are flat, spreading, and mostly 1.5-4 cm long and 4-7 mm wide. Racemes are 2-3 numbered, short-exerted, 4-5 mm apart, 1-2 cm long, with the minute, glabrous, pale yellow, suborbicular spikelets being singly disposed. It is a native of the West Indies and Mexico south to Brazil (Hitchcock and Chase 1917).
