*Adonis annua Linnaeus. Common name: Autumn Adonis, Bird's-eye, Pheasant’s-eye, Blood-drops. Phenology: (Late Mar-) Apr-Jun. Habitat: Disturbed areas, formerly especially as a weed in grain fields. Distribution: Native of Eurasia. Naturalized in n. AL and sc. TN (Parfitt in FNA 1997).

Origin/Endemic status: Eurasia
