*Pteris parkeri J.J. Parker. Common name: White-lined Cretan Brake, Variegated Table Fern. Habitat: Limey rocks and soils. Distribution: Native of Japan and Korea.
Origin/Endemic status: E., se., and s. Asia
Taxonomy Comments: Jaruwattanaphan, Matsumoto, & Watano (2013) provide evidence that var. albolineata (a 3x agamosporous taxon) is derived from hybridization of an ancestral diploid of P. ryukyuensis and a 2x agamosporous population of P. cretica var. cretica. As a triploid allotetraploid, it should not be treated as an infrataxon of P. cretica.
