Pteridium caudatum (Linnaeus) Maxon. Common name: Lacy Bracken, Tropical Bracken, Tailed Bracken. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Hammocks, pine flatwoods, Florida scrub. Distribution: FL peninsula (north to Citrus and St. Johns counties); West Indies; Mexico, Central America, and South America.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: This species is an allotetraploid, probably with P. pseudocaudatum as one parent.
