not marked as a favorite taxon Heteranthera limosa (Swartz) Willdenow. Common name: Blue Mud-Plantain. Phenology: Jun-Oct. Habitat: Shallow water and muddy shores of rivers, ponds, lakes, and reservoirs, wet ditches, agricultural fields, other wet areas. Distribution: Kentucky, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Colorado, south to Alabama (Diamond & Woods 2009), Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Arizona; Mexico, Central and South America, West Indies. Attributed to Virginia in Small (1933), but the documentation is not known.
