Bolboschoenus novae-angliae (Britton) S.G. Smith. Common name: New England Bulrush. Phenology: Late Jun-Jul; Jul-Sep. Habitat: Fresh to brackish (oligohaline) tidal marshes, ditches. Distribution: ME to NC (or GA?).
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: Probably originating as a hybrid derivative of Bolboschoenus fluviatilis and B. robustus, but its distinctiveness and ecological behavior suggest that it should be treated as a species; see Schuyler (1975) and Cronquist (1991) for additional discussion.
