Isolepis pseudosetacea (Daveau) Gandoger. Phenology: Apr-Sep. Habitat: Altamaha grit outcrops, igneous and sandstone glades, saline glades, moist soils. Distribution: E. GA (Carter, Baker, & Morris 2009) west to sw. MO, AR, and c. TX. Reported for MS (J.R. Rigby, pers. comm., 2018). Also in the western Mediterranean region of sw. Europe and nw. Africa (POWO 2024).

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: The unusual and disjunct distribution of this taxon is based on the treatment of I. pseudosetacea (Daveau) Gandoger from the w. Mediterranean region and I. molesta (M.C. Johnston) S.G. Smith from sc. United States. It is unknown whether this synonymy should be accepted, and if so, if it represents an old disjunction (the species native in both of these far disjunct regions), or the species was recently introduced or adventive in one direction or the other.

Other Comments: This species often grows intermixed with I. carinata and may be more widespread in our area.
