Rhynchospora gracilenta A. Gray. Common name: Slender Beaksedge. Phenology: Jul-Sep. Habitat: Pine savannas, bogs, seeps. Distribution: NJ south to ne. FL, FL Panhandle, and west to e. TX, north in the inland to nc. TN, se. KY (Brock 2020), and AR; Cuba; Mexico (Chiapas), Belize, Nicaragua.

Glossary (beta!)

ID notes: In general appearance Rhynchospora gracilenta resembles some other beaksedges, but differs strikingly in its elongate, tapering, seed beak that is 1.5-2 mm long. The culms (stems) often are leaning or lax, or even lying parallel to the ground.
