*Alopecurus pratensis Linnaeus. Common name: Meadow Foxtail. Phenology: May-Jul. Habitat: Roadsides, fields. Distribution: Native of Eurasia. Reported for Piedmont of nc. GA (Jones & Coile 1988), for scattered locations in PA (Rhoads & Block 2007), and for VA, KY, WV, MD, and DE (Kartesz 1999). Reported for Ashe County, NC (Poindexter & Murrell 2008).

Origin/Endemic status: Eurasia

Synonymy : = C, Can, F, FNA24, G, HC, Il, K4, Mi, Mo1, NS, NY, Pa, POWO, Va, WV; = n/a — RAB. Basionym: Alopecurus pratensis L. 1753
