Cyclosorus gongylodes (Schkuhr) Link. Common name: Hottentot Fern, Willdenow’s Fern. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Wet hammocks, marshes, swamps, ditches. Distribution: FL and s. LA; West Indies; Mexico, Central America, and South America; paleotropics.

Taxonomy Comments: The neotropical taxon present in our region has often been recognized as a species separate from Old World C. interruptus; POWO (2024) treats New World plants as Thelypteris gongylodes (see synonymy). We follow that decision pending additional taxonomic analysis.
