*Briza maxima Linnaeus. Common name: Greater Quaking Grass. Phenology: May-Jul. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of the Mediterranean region. Reported in e. GA (Jones & Coile 1988; Kartesz 2015).

Origin/Endemic status: Mediterranean Europe and Africa

Synonymy : = C, Can, ETx1, FlGr, FNA24, Il, K4, Meso6, NcTx, NS, NY, POWO, Essi, Longhi-Wagner, & de Souza-Chies (2017), Isabel, Quintanar, & Medina (2018); = Macrobriza maxima (L.) Tzvelev — Tkach et al (2020). Basionym: Briza maxima L. 1753
