*Briza media Linnaeus var. media. Common name: Perennial Quaking Grass. Phenology: May-Aug. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of Europe. Reported for scattered locations in PA (Rhoads & Block 2007), MD, DE, and TN (Kartesz 2015).

Origin/Endemic status: Europe

Taxonomy Comments: Our plants of B. media are all B. media var. media. Var. caucasica (Marcowicz) Essi, Longhi-Wagner & Souza-Chies is endemic at high elevations in the Caucasus.
