Chasmanthium nitidum (Baldwin) Yates. Common name: Shiny Spanglegrass. Phenology: May-Nov. Habitat: Blackwater swamp forests, especially with calcareous influence (over marl, oligohaline tidal swamps). Distribution: Se. NC south to s. FL and west to se. AL.

Origin/Endemic status: Endemic

Synonymy : = FlGr, FNA25, GW1, K4, NS, POWO, WH3, Yates (1966a), Yates (1966c); = Uniola nitida Baldwin — HC, RAB, S, S13. Basionym: Uniola nitida Baldwin 1816
