Dichanthelium microcarpon (Muhlenberg ex Elliott) Mohlenbrock. Common name: Small-fruited Witchgrass. Phenology: May-Oct. Habitat: Floodplain forests, swamps, openings, and borders of streams and ponds, and occasionally in dry upland woods. Distribution: MA and MI south to FL and TX.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Other Comments: All nodes are typically densely retrorsely bearded.
