not marked as a favorite taxon Woodsia ilvensis (Linnaeus) R. Brown. Common name: Rusty Woodsia, Rusty Cliff Fern. Phenology: Jun-Sep. Habitat: Cliffs of amphibolite, greenstone, other rocks. Distribution: Circumboreal, ranging in North America from Newfoundland and Labrador (Newfoundland) and Alaska south to Virginia, nw. North Carolina, Ohio, n. Illinois, nw. Iowa, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.
