Taxonomy Comments: There remains some doubt about the identity of the population discovered; reported by Werth, Zeng, & Baird (1997). Peterson, Romaschenko, & Herrera Arrieta (2015) support recognition of this taxon at species rank, as it is not sister to E. coracana.
