not marked as a favorite taxon Leersia hexandra Swartz. Common name: Southern Cutgrass. Phenology: Apr-Nov. Habitat: Clay-based Carolina bays, limesink ponds, Florida wet prairies, lakes, pools, canals, marshes, usually in places where periodically or seasonally inundated. Distribution: Pantropical, ranging north in North America to Maryland, Tennessee, and Texas.
