not marked as a favorite taxon *Setaria verticilliformis Dumortier. Habitat: Reported for NJ, PA, MD, and AL (FNA 2003a, Kartesz 1999) and at least one specimen from Arkansas (Witsell 11-0218; NCU 452080; S. Ward, pers. obs.; 2026).

ID notes: Similar to S. faberi and S. verticillata. Differing from the former by more verticillate inflorescences and finely rugose upper lemmas (vs. densely spicate inflorescences and very finely to smooth upper lemmas) and from the latter by the more finely rugose upper lemmas and antrorsely hispid panicle rachises (vs. coarsely rugose upper lemmas and retrorsely hispid panicle rachises).
