Dicentra eximia (Ker Gawler) Torrey. Wild Bleeding Heart. Phen: Apr-Jul; Jul-Aug. Hab: Cliffs, talus slopes, rocky slopes, rock outcrops, shale slopes. Dist: An Appalachian endemic: NY and NJ south to NC, SC (Gaddy et al. 1984), and TN.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: A diploid species (2n=16) (Hatcher 2019).
