*Roemeria argemone (Linnaeus) C. Morales, R. Mendoza-Castellón, & Romero García. Common name: Prickly Poppy. Phenology: Apr-May. Habitat: Disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of Europe and sw. Asia. Reported from PA (Rhoads & Black 2007, Kiger & Murray in FNA 1997), VA (probably only from cultivation), and MD (Kiger & Murray in FNA 1997).

Origin/Endemic status: Europe

Synonymy : = K4, POWO, Banfi et al (2022); = n/a — C, Tat; = Papaver argemone L. — Can, FNA3, NS, NY, Pa. Basionym: Papaver argemone L. 1753
