Hab: Longleaf pine sandhills, in loamy, clayey, or sandy areas. Dist: Sc. NC south through SC to GA, a Southeastern Coastal Plain endemic (reports from AL and FL are in error).

Other Comments: "The Michaux milk-vetch is greatly isolated from any member of the genus morphologically similar" (Barneby 1964).
