Astragalus villosus Michaux. Section: Villosi. Common name: Bearded Milkvetch, Southern Milkvetch. Phenology: Late Feb-Jun; Jun-Aug. Habitat: Longleaf pine sandhills and other dry, sandy places. Distribution: A Southeastern Coastal Plain endemic: s. SC south to Panhandle FL, west to s. MS.

Other Comments: Barneby (1964) describes this species as "a lowly but delightful little astragalus".
