Stems: Stems angle-ribbed, furry with tawny hairs.
Leaves: Leaves alternate, on petioles with a pair of lance-shaped stipules at base, (mostly) divided into 3 smooth to hairy, broadly oval to nearly round leaflets with conspicuous netted veins and inconspicuous resinous dots.
Inforescence:
Flowers: Flowers in stalked racemes from leaf axils, yellow (sometimes with red or purple streaks), nearly 1/2 in. long, with typical pea-flower shape and a hairy, tubular calyx.
Fruits: Fruit a hairy, broad pod with hooked beak.
