not marked as a favorite taxon *Trifolium striatum Linnaeus. Common name: Knotted Clover. Phenology: Apr-Aug. Habitat: Roadsides, disturbed areas, waste areas near wool-combing mills. Distribution: Native of Mediterranean Europe; rarely escaped in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and ne. Texas.

ID notes: This species is recognized by its small, sessile, elongating heads, and ribbed, inflating densely pubescent calyces with short lobes (Isely 1998).
