*Trema orientalis (Linnaeus) Blume. Common name: Gunpowder Tree. Phenology: Jan-May. Habitat: Disturbed hammocks and disturbed areas. Distribution: Native of the Paleotropics. Established in s. FL: Miami-Dade County, where well established following an introduction by the USDA, and around Lake Okeechobee in Palm Beach, Martin, Okeechobee cos.

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Synonymy : = FNA3, K4, NS, WH3; Celtis orientalis L. — (basionym); = Trema orientale — POWO
