Taxonomy Comments: Agave angustifolia is a highly variable species from which many other taxa are likely derived, such as A. amaniensis Trel. & W. Nowell, A. tequilana, A. decipiens, A. fourcroydes, and A. sisalana.
Other Comments: This is the primary species used in the production of mescal in Mexico.
