*Pterocarya stenoptera A.C.P. de Candolle. Common name: Japanese Wingnut. Phenology: Apr-May; Aug-Sep. Habitat: Uncommonly cultivated, rarely naturalized or persistent. Distribution: Native of e. Asia (China, Japan, and Korea). Naturalized in e. LA and a few scattered locations in the e. US.

Origin/Endemic status: E. and se. Asia

Synonymy : = K4, NS, POWO; = n/a — FNA3. Basionym: Pterocarya stenoptera C.DC. 1862
