Cucurbita moschata Duchesne. Common name: Butternut Squash, Seminole Pumpkin. Phenology: May-Oct. Habitat: Gardens, fields, trash heaps, commonly cultivated in home gardens and commercially, rarely volunteering from seed the following year. Distribution: Native of tropical America.
