Dalbergia ecastaphyllum (Linnaeus) Taubert. Common name: Coinvine. Phenology: Apr-Aug. Habitat: Maritime hammocks, beach dunes, coastal strands, coastal grasslands, coastal berms, scrubby flatwoods, shell middens, mangroves. Distribution: Peninsular FL; West Indies; Mexico (TAB, VER), Central America, and South America; Paleotropics.
ID notes: This shrub or small tree is typically at least somewhat scandent; the unifoliolate leaves and legumes almost as wide as long are also distinctive features.
