Nephrolepis ×averyi C.E. Nauman. Common name: Avery’s Sword Fern. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Mesic hammocks, rockland hammocks, strand swamps, disturbed uplands. Distribution: S. and c. peninsular FL; West Indies (Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico); Mexico.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: This taxon is an allotetraploid hybrid N. biserrata × exaltata ssp. exaltata. It apparently only occurs in association with both parents.
