Melochia spicata (Linnaeus) Fryxell var. spicata . Common name: Bretonica-peluda. Phenology: Jan-Dec. Habitat: Calcareous pine flatwoods, disturbed areas. Distribution: Probably native in peninsular FL, and widely distributed in tropical America, the original distribution somewhat uncertain.
