Comandra umbellata (Linnaeus) Nuttall var. umbellata. Common name: Eastern Comandra, Eastern Bastard-toadflax, Star-toadflax. Phenology: Apr-Jul; Jul-Aug. Habitat: Dry forests and woodlands, woodland borders, glades, usually in acidic soils and most common in oak/heath forests. Distribution: Var. umbellata ranges from ME to e. ND, south to SC, n. GA, n. AL, n. MS, s. AR, e. OK, and c. KS.
