*Tamarix gallica Linnaeus. Section: Tamarix. Series: Gallicae. Common name: French Tamarisk. Phenology: Apr-Jul. Habitat: Brackish marshes. Distribution: Native of the w. Mediterranean region of Europe. Most reports of this taxon from the Southeast represent misidentifications or a very broad interpretation of the species.

Origin/Endemic status: Mediterranean Europe and Africa
