*Tamarix gallica Linnaeus. Section: Tamarix. Series: Gallicae. French Tamarisk. Phen: Apr-Jul. Hab: Brackish marshes. Dist: Native of the w. Mediterranean region of Europe. Most reports of this taxon from the Southeast represent misidentifications or a very broad interpretation of the species.

Origin/Endemic status: Mediterranean Europe and Africa
