Vallisneria neotropicalis Victorin. Large Water-celery, Large Eelgrass. Hab: Spring runs; other aquatic habitats. Dist: FL Panhandle, s. FL, and apparently from e. SC west to TX in the Coastal Plain; Cuba.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: The distinctiveness of this taxon has been defended by Les et al (2008) on morphological and molecular grounds.

Synonymy: = AqW, SFla, Frère Marie-Victorin (1943), Bernardini, & Lucchese (2018), Les et al (2008); = n/a – RAB; < Vallisneria americana Michx. – FNA22, GW1, K1, K3, WH3; < Vallisneria americana Michx. var. americana – Meso6, Lowden (1982)
