Ruppia maritima Linnaeus. Common name: Widgeon-grass, Ditch-grass. Phenology: Jul-Oct. Habitat: Brackish estuaries, rivers, marsh pools. Distribution: Nearly cosmopolitan.

Taxonomy Comments: Crow & Hellquist (2023) discuss the possibility that two reproductively separated taxa are present, at least north of our region.
