Callitriche palustris Linnaeus. Swamp Water-starwort. Phen: Mar-Sep. Hab: Ponds, lakes, stagnant streams, wet soil. Dist: Circumboreal, in North America south to VA, WV, IL, TX, and CA; South America.

Origin/Endemic status: Native

Taxonomy Comments: The nomenclatural debate between C. palustris and C. verna is difficult to resolve.
