*Thymus praecox Opiz ssp. arcticus (Durand) Jalas. Mother-of-Thyme. Phen: Jul-Sep. Hab: Commonly cultivated and sometimes escaped or persisting. Dist: Native of Eurasia.

Origin/Endemic status: Eurasia

Taxonomy Comments: Apparently differing from other subspecies of T. praceox by the presence of stem hairs mostly on 2 sides, cauline leaves more or less equal size throughout, and leaves densely glandular-punctate (Jalas 1972).
