Parthenium hispidum Rafinesque. Section: Partheniastrum. Common name: Ozark Wild Quinine, Hispid Wild Quinine. Phenology: May-Jul (-Aug). Habitat: Barrens, prairies, especially over limestone or dolostone. Distribution: IL and KS south through the Interior Highlands to nw. LA and ne. TX; disjunct in c. TN.
Origin/Endemic status: Native
Taxonomy Comments: Often treated as only varietally (or not at all taxonomically) distinct from P. integrifolium var. integrifolium, but sometimes sharply distinct.
