Helianthus longifolius Pursh. Common name: Longleaf Sunflower. Phenology: Aug-Oct. Habitat: Sandstone and granite glades and woodlands, loamy to xeric longleaf pine sandhills. Distribution: This species is apparently rare, occurring in ne. AL, nw. GA, south to sw. GA.
