Brasenia Schreber. Common name: Water-shield.
A monotypic genus, an aquatic herb, widely distributed in tropical and temperate regions of the Old and New World.
ID notes: The elliptic, peltate, floating leaves and mucilaginous petioles make Brasenia unmistakable.
