Malachra Linnaeus. Subfamily: Malvoideae. Tribe: Hibisceae. Common name: Leafbract.
A genus of 8-10 species, annual or perennial herbs, of tropical America. Hanes et al. (2024) suggest inclusion of Malachra into Pavonia, but have not yet made the combinations.
ID notes: The inflorescences are subtended by (usually) deltoid or cordate, boat-shaped bracts, but the individual flowers typically lack an epicalyx.
