Orthilia Rafinesque. Common name: Sidebells, One-sided Shinleaf, One-sided Wintergreen.
A monotypic genus, a subshrub, circumboreal in distribution. The recognition of Orthilia as separate from Pyrola is supported by molecular data (Freudenstein 1999a).
